Transcript

Below the waterline. Episode four: safety under pressure. Every dive starts long before anyone enters the water.

We go through project preparation and risk assessment: identifying currents, shipping movements, contamination, entrapment and energy sources, and removing or controlling them.

We explain the dive plan, the surface support that keeps it running, and the communication discipline that keeps supervisor and diver aligned. We talk about the standby diver, always ready and never tasked, and emergency procedures that are rehearsed rather than read.

We end with toolbox talks: the short conversation on site, on the day, that turns a written plan into shared understanding.
