Salvage

A sunken object is a commercial problem before it is a technical one: a blocked berth, a closed lock, a fouled intake or a waterway that cannot be released for traffic. The first hour is spent establishing exactly what is down there, how it is lying and what it is resting against — most failed lifts start with an object that was assumed rather than surveyed.

We locate the object with sonar, ROV or a diver search pattern, then assess weight, attachment points, ground suction, contents and pollution risk. Only after that do we build the lift: rigging plan, lifting bags or crane capacity, exclusion zone, and agreement with the waterway authority on closure windows and traffic management.

Recovery is executed with nobody in the lift path and with pollution control ready before the object breaks the surface. Fuel, oil and loose cargo are dealt with as part of the plan, not as a surprise. Afterwards we sweep the area so the berth or channel can be formally released, and provide the record the authority needs to reopen it.
